Digital Reporter
For my capstone project I worked with a group of 3 other students in connection with RIT's University Wide Magazine, Reporter, to introduce a digital version of the magazine. Together, Team OBAE, worked with Adobe DPS, Edge Animation, and HTML to digitize the October 2014 issue and make it app-ready.
Tiger Stripes
This project was for the class Image Processing Workflow. We were to acquire images (either taken by ourselves or found) and take them through the whole workflow from Input to Print. I created my own nail polish brand, Siobhan Nail Lacquer and my own line, Tiger Stripes. I photographed over 100 images in studio using models and the polish. I then took the images through DAM, overall and selective image editing. Once the editing was completed (using Lightroom and Photoshop) images were prepared for web and print. The print images were brought into InDesign to create the print ads and packaging shown in the slideshow above. Labels were also made for the polish bottles printed on clear adhesive vinyl die-cut to size.
Tips on Tips
This project was for the class Book Design. We were to design and create a book that had some sort of interactivity. As cupcakes and cake decorating is a beloved hobby of mine, I thought of a book on different pastry tips. Each page shows an image of the tip being used, what the tip size/title is and a list of things the tip can do. The cupcakes were baked, frosted, filmed, photographed, printed, and then cut out to create pop-ups in the book. The interactivity of the book is brought in through the app "Aurasma". After opening the app (and subscribing to my channel) simply scan the image of one of the cupcakes and a video of how to use the tip will pop up!
Magazine Design
Above are a few examples of magazine design I have done while at RIT.
Personal Branding
I am currently in the middle of my own personal branding. After multiple logo sketches I am happy to finally have a solid logo that is good in both 3-d and flat settings. I have added a business card and letterhead as well as tied my resume, website, and branding together.
Color My World
Our final project for Imaging for New Media was to create a book of images. The project above is my final result. To create this book, I began by photographing friends in colored jeans and then scanned the jeans by themselves. I was then able to change the jeans in the photos and the scans to different colors creating a rainbow. The book can be viewed as any normal book, flipping the pages one after the other, but it can also be pulled out fully to just show a rainbow of colored denim. The cover is made of white denim and illustration board.
TAGA 2015
I was fortunate to join TAGA club my senior year and dive in head first. Each year colleges and universities around the world submit a publication the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts conference held in March. This year TAGA worked around the clock to come up with our Swiss style inspired book along with an Adobe DPS app.
